Galaxy Caramel Egg Brownies & CCP

Easter is right around the corner. People keep on putting Crème Eggs in everything. This is not ok with me. At their best, Crème Eggs are sickly, at their worst they’re nauseating. I don’t dislike them, I just don’t see what they add to anything. At Easter these days there are so many better options, even from Cadburys. But king of the high street readily available eggs has to be the Galaxy Caramel Eggs. They are just better, hands down. They are better than the Cadbury’s Caramel ones too, but the same can be said for the chocolate bars of both. Sorry Cadbury’s! My dream would be for Lindt to turn their salted caramel bars into an egg though, then I’d probably be found in a coma surrounded by empty foils murmuring “just one more egg, it’ll be ok” over and over again.

What & Where I Ate: February 2016

What & Where I ate

I failed dismally at doing an update on what I baked, where I ate and what I cooked for January. Which is actually a bit of a shame as I did another veg month and we themed each week around a different cookbook or cuisine, so for once it would probably have been a bit more interesting than normal. Stuff like courgette halloumi fritters, mushroom & tofu noodle soup or re-purposing my sriracha honey glazed chicken to use with oven baked tofu. I moved right at the end of January though and I’ve not eaten out as much as I usually do, but I have however been baking a lot. So without further ado, here’s what I baked & cooked for February 2016 along with where I ate out.

Isle of Mull – New Years 2015

If you saw my photo diary of Christmas on the Isle of Mull you’ll know I spent the entire festive period on the island. After my parent’s left my friends came up to visit and we spent a few days walking, drinking and eating. Below are a few snaps I took, with the odd one taken by my friends (mainly the group shots). I’m going up again in March, and you can see previous posts about Scotland and the island here, but for now, enjoy my photos from New Years. As ever, more photos are available on my flickr:

Isle of Mull – Christmas 2015

At Christmas I took a trip to see my parents in Scotland again, you can see snaps from previous visits here and check out general Scotland rambles here. For the uninitiated; my parents live on the Isle of Mull and I absolutely fuckin’ love it there. This is part one of a two part series, and concentrates on the days over Christmas, before my friends came up for New Years. That will be following after I finally get around to doing my first recipe post of the year.

2015 Review; Bake, Eat & Listen

2015 in review

2015 was a year that happened. I say happened, as outside of 2 or 3 notable bits (I started a new job, met an awesome lady, popped to Berlin and watched a LOT of (Progress) wrestling) it’s been a fairly average year. What with moving several times it never really got going properly. I know that for many it was probably a pretty big and action packed year, so sit down and take a swig of your January inspired “detox” juice and listen to me wittering away about the previous calendar year. I’ll be going through my favourite musical releases, favourite food eaten out and my favourite bakes from the blog. If you’re interested to hear a few other bits about what I did this year then go check out some words on Berlin and Scotland, and go follow me on instagram and twitter to take a look back at snaps and rambles.
