A very merry Christmas to you all.
It’s been a pretty mixed year. But right now it’s just a few days until Christmas and we all know what that means, right? Food. More food than your body can handle. More cheese than you’d ever consider eating in a month, in the space of a few days. Everything covered in chocolate. Questionable amounts of alcohol consumption at questionable times of day.
I’ve decided that just a few days before the big day I’ll do a rundown of some of my favourite Christmas recipes from both my own blog and a few of my favourite other Food Bloggers, so check these out below and get your bake/cook on. Most of the ones from me are from previous years but you can check more recent ones here.
Cranberry & Orange Loaves – Me
I have been making this recipe for years now and it’s one of my favourite festive bakes. They keep really well and make wonderful gifts.
Cranberry Sauce (The Way My Nan Makes It) – Cate in the Kitchen
Nothing says Christmas dinner than a great cranberry sauce recipe. This one is from Cate’s own Nan and she swears by it every year.
Matcha Pancakes with Maple & Cinnamon Cranberries – Me
Start Christmas morning with a bit of a twist. Go for a stack of pancakes with a festive side. Greens, reds, cinnamon and cranberry all getting involved to make it extra festive.
Christmas Pudding Macarons – Recipes & Reviews
Emily has become pretty well known for her ever fantastical macaron recipes over the last year or so (check out these, these & these), and these Christmassy ones are no different. Check out the handy infographic she put together for the perfect macaron.
Yule Log – Me
A pretty quintessential Christmas recipe. Nothing particularly new here but it’s always a bit of a showstopper, especially if you can gloat about making it yourself.
Festive Gingerbread Blondies – Persephone H
A great crispy top and loads of ginger and cinnamon (like Christmas should be) these look and sound fantastic.
Nutella Filled Cinnamon Sugar Muffins – Me
Cinnamon and Nutella are one of my favourite combinations. Add them together and get these super tasty sugarmuffins. Great something to munch on throughout the festive period.
Christmas Spiced Chestnut Cinnamon Buns – They called it The Diamond
I’m a sucker for a cinnamon bun. Cinnamon is the king of the spices and this is the perfect time of year to make a bunch of them. I’ve a few go to recipes but this one from Flick looks right up my street and perfect for Christmas morning.
Hope everyone has a brilliant Christmas, I’ll be spending mine in Scotland. Send any other of your favourite recipes my way.
Merry Christmas,
Mike x
